VIII. The Iconoclast

An embodiment of the exhilaration within those first few steps of a newly opened path.

The Iconoclast is an edited explosion of shells, quartz, and almost kaleidoscopically iridescent pearls that was built to be worn in a multitude of ways.  It's a necklace, sure, but possibility is what this piece is all about.

Multiple variations on clear quartz invite in and hold the charge of awakening, while pearl honors the work that facilitated the breakthrough.  Multiple shells dance around the perimeter; sculptural elements that once were homes, welcoming us home.

The nature of the thin, black matte glass intervals juxtaposed with the episodic masses of natural materials has a securing effect on this piece, making it so that it works equally well as a wrap bracelet or anklet.  

I do so love the joy of discovering that I don't have to keep doing what I've always done.

Materials: matte black glass, vintage high nacre baroque pearls, various found and haand rendered shells, clear quartz, hematoid quartz, green phantom quartz, sterling silver lobster closure.
