THE SELF ESTIMATE WRAP NECKLACE

A multi-use lariat wrap that holds expansion and ground simultaneously.

This piece began as a 1920s sautoir neckpiece, built to be a dynamic dance floor partner.  It was already carrying plenty of its own momentum. 

I didn’t have to do much.  Just one element: a large, genuine carnelian ring.  

Carnelian imbues vitality, power, strong self inhabitation, and creative force, and it does this through the steady rooting within oneself.  It holds the center of the movement here, acting as an anchor point from which the kinetic energy emanates.  A lower center of gravity makes for a beautiful dancer, after all.

The form mirrors this intention:  innovation without overcomplication, rules made in real time.  Self Estimate can be worn in a multitude of ways:  looped through as a lariat, drawn close as a collar with a dramatic back drape, wrapped around the neck thrice for a statement piece, or worn long and loose as a pendant.  Expansion!

A reminder that grounding doesn't hold you down.  It frees you up to move.
